Green Bean Casserole
Green bean casserole is a casserole consisting of green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and french fried onions. The recipe may also call for ground black pepper and soy sauce. It is a popular Thanksgiving side dish.
The green bean casserole was first created in 1955 by the Campbell Soup Company.

Ingredients:
- 2 cans (15 oz.) cut green beans.
- 1 large onion sliced into half rings.
- 1/2 can (10.75 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup.
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- Dash black pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Topping:
1 cups French’s French Fried Onion.
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cut up onion into thin rings then in half again (making thin half rings), fry in pan with a little canola oil until lightly caramelized.
- Place onion in a baking dish, combine green beans, mushroom soup, soy sauce, pepper and cheese. Mix ingredients together.
- sprinkle French’s French Fried onions on top.
- Cover dish with foil and bake until bubbling and hot in middle (about 45minutes).
