Green Bean Casserole
Green bean casserole is a casserole consisting of green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and french fried onions. The recipe may also call for ground black pepper and soy sauce. It is a popular Thanksgiving side dish.
The green bean casserole was first created in 1955 by the Campbell Soup Company.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 oz.) cut green beans.
  • 1 large onion sliced into half rings.
  • 1/2 can (10.75 oz.) condensed cream of mushroom soup.
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Dash black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese.

Topping:
1 cups French’s French Fried Onion.

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut up onion into thin rings then in half again (making thin half rings), fry in pan with a little canola oil until lightly caramelized.
  3. Place onion in a baking dish, combine green beans, mushroom soup, soy sauce, pepper and cheese. Mix ingredients together.
  4. sprinkle French’s French Fried onions on top.
  5. Cover dish with foil and bake until bubbling and hot in middle (about 45minutes).
