Naan Bread
Naan, oven-baked flatbread. It is typical of and popular in South and Central Asia, and in South Asian restaurants abroad.
Easy to make and quick to bake this is a great side with any good curry dish. For a nice treat brush with butter and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour (white bread flour)
- 1 Tsp yeast
- 2Tbsp canola oil
- 4 Tbsp low fat yogurt
- 1 Tsp honey
- 1 Tsp salt
- 3/4 cups warm water
Directions:
- Mix yeast with a small portion of the water and stir in honey, set aside.
- Mix flour, canola oil, yogurt, salt, and the rest of the warm water.
- Once all mixed knead in the yeast mixture.
- Let dough rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees F.
- Separate the dough into small balls, stretch and flatten the balls and place on a baking sheet.
- Cook time 2 1/2 minutes at 500 degrees F.
- Brush with butter after cooked.
