One of the most delicious prime rib recipes you will ever try! This recipe will feed approx. 2 people per rib. Recommended sides are Yorkshire pudding, potatoes of your choice and corn on the cob. Excellent for those large family get togethers.
Ingredients:
- 7 Bone Beef Prime Rib
- 2-3 tbsp Black Pepper Corns
- 1 tbsp salt
- 3-4 tbsp Fresh minced Garlic
- 1 tsp Dry Rosemary
- 1 tsp Dry Basil
Directions:
- Pre heat oven to 450 degrees F
- Mix pepper, salt, garlic, and herbs.
- Place roast fat side up (bone side down) in an shallow baking pan.
- Insert meat thermometer in center or roast.
- When meat comes to room temperature, rub with herb mixture.
- Cook 15 – 20 minutes at 450 degrees F to sear.
- Reduce heat to 325 degrees F and continue cooking approx. 15 minutes per pound until desire internal temperature is reached.
- When beef is done remove roast from pan and cover with tin foil; and let rest for 10 – 15 minutes.
- Rare – 120 -130
- Med Rare 130 – 140
- Med 145 – 150 (I take it out at 150F)
- Med Well 155-160
