Curry’s popularity in recent decades has spread outward from the Indian subcontinent to figure prominently in international cuisine. Consequently, each culture has adopted spices in its indigenous cooking to suit its own unique tastes and cultural sensibilities.

This is my favorite beef curry, made with the very best fresh ingredients, this curry is full of flavor and amazing aroma. Approx. cook time is 2.5 hours.

  • Slice onions and tomatoes, set aside.
  • Heat oil in a pot and add sliced onions and fry for a minute or until slightly brown (the brown bits will add color to overall dish).
  • Add Beef cubes, garlic, ginger, and Garam Masala to the pot, fry for another 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, cilantro, cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, Cardamon seeds, salt, cumin, chilli powder, and tumeric.
  • Close the lid on pot and cook on medium heat for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally to ensure that the meat does not stick to the pot and burn. The idea is to render down most of the water in the vegetables.
  • When most of the water evaporates, the oil should separate from the sauce and looks a bit "grainy" (this means you are ready for the next step). At this point the onions and tomatoes should be rendered down.
  • Add 2 cup of water and stir. Close lid on the pot and cook on low (simmer). Check often to make sure that the meat does not stick to the bottom. When the meat reaches the desired tenderness the dish is done (meat should fall apart when cut with spoon).
  • Mix in cilantro and serve hot.
  • Eat with a side of Basmati rice and Naan bread or Roti.
